Buy things that stack and complement
Every item on the shelf does its little job alone. But put the right two or three together and the jobs join up — one starts something, another carries it further, a third makes it shine. Read the cards as you shop — when a card mentions something you already own, that’s an opportunity for synergy, and synergy is the quickest road to power on the yard.
Synergy
When buys stack and complement, players call it synergy. It’s simple: strategic buys add up to more than the sum of their parts. The shop is full of chances at it — the three real synergies below all live on the shelf.
Fire that spreads
Chili Pepper gives your attacks a chance to set pests burning. Cup o’ Gas lets a burn spread to a neighbor. Tiny Bellows fans every burn to tick faster. One starts the fire, one carries it, one feeds it — three small buys, one big warm answer to a crowd.
Hearts that work overtime
Care Package makes pests drop more hearts. Heart Locket makes every heart heal deeper. Clean Plate puts the hearts you catch at full health to work anyway. More hearts, better hearts, and a job for the spares — nothing here goes to waste.
A streak worth guarding
A synergy can be an item and a stat, too. Shiny Stone polishes your attack speed brighter every second — and taking a hit drops the shine. So befriend it with sturdiness: a little armor here, a little dodge there, and the stone stays gleaming. Some items love what you buy around them as much as what you buy with them.
Every visit still counts
Some visits, nothing on the shelf fits your synergy. Reroll if you like — fresh stock is a coin or two early on — or pick up something sturdy: more health and a bit of armor fit every build there is. Then back to the yard; the next visit may hold the piece that completes the synergy.
The shelf runs deep
Synergies like these are everywhere once you start reading for them — the whole supply line stands in Provisions, and hovering any item name shows its card. And when you want the styles synergies grow best in, my play-style advice sits one chair over: ways to play. Now — the shop’s open, friend. Go find a pair that stacks, load your arms, and wave to the neighbor on your way out. Good buys!
